End of Season and preparing for the Next

Kokiris have returned home now. As we have done several environmental and awareness programs, we have also set the basis for our project that is to come the end of 2020. Creating and overseeing a local research & education center, a “Community Knowledge Space”, that documents knowledge in addition to making this knowledge adaptable for a modern sustainable lifestyle.

In this “Community Knowledge Space”, not only documentation will take place, but also education. The villagers will be invited to engage in awareness encounters about relevant issues: environmental adaptive creativity & economic sustainability in a modern world, managing abusive relationships, alcohol abuse, medical awareness etc. The people in the village have an active sense of communion who enjoy gathering for events, which facilitates their involvement in this planned process as creators and not only participants. Documentation mechanisms will include an online database, permitting the communication of self-sustainable and historical knowledge among tribes around the world.

The research & education center will be constructed entirely of bamboo and local materials, demonstrating that cement and tin are not climate friendly components. The architectural design will follow a traditional basis with certain innovations.
